GlobiVac® IBH


INCLUSION BODY HEPATITIS (also known as Hydropericardium syndrome, Leechi disease or Angara disease) IBH is the disease of young broilers caused by Avian Adenovirus affecting 3 to 6 week old birds with mortality up to 70%. The horizontal and vertical transmission play an important role.

IBH is manifested as:
  • Sudden onset
  • Birds debilitated & reluctant to move
  • Huddling with ruffled feathers
  • Yellow mucoid droppings
  • Usually affects birds of 3 to 5 week age, but can also affect chicks even of 4 day age
  • Mortality ranges from 2 to 40 % , but can reach to 70% in acute cases
  • Clinical disease results if the birds are infected with immunopsuppressive viruses

The post-mortem lesions in IBH are:
  • Enlarged congested Liver
  • Presence of large round basophilic intranuclear inclusion bodies in hepatocytes microscopically
  • Pericardium filled with fluid
  • Petechial and ecchymotic haemorrhages in heart
  • Congested & haemorrhagic lungs with inflammation and oedema
  • Enlarged, pale and friable kidney
  • Splenomegaly

Route of administration:
  • GlobiVac IBH can be administered by i/m or s/c injection

Dose of vaccination:
  • Chicks less than 10 days of age: 0.25 ml per bird
  • Chicks more than 10 days of age: 0.5 ml per bird

Age of vaccination:
  • Broilers: 1 to 10 days
  • Breeders: 6th and 16th week

Precautions:
  • Vaccine should be stored and transported as per the conditions recommended.
  • Vaccine vials should not be exposed to direct sun light.
  • Consult your veterinarian for specific vaccination schedule for your farm.
  • Vaccinate only healthy birds.
  • Vaccine should be brought to ambient temperature (15-25 Degree Celcius) before vaccination.
  • Shake the bottle well before and during vaccination.
  • Follow aseptic precautions for vaccination.
  • Use the bottle entirety once opened. Left over vaccine should be discarded.
  • If accidental injection occurs in human, consult your physician immediately.
